Pumpkin Patch 2014

The pumpkin patch is one of my favorite traditions! I start looking forward to it in the hot summer, too bad it still feels like summer! Well this year was Noah's first pumpkin patch trip and grandpa joined us too! Last year we went he was still in my belly! And the year before that... Luke didn't even walk yet!

This year we got to do a lot more "fun" stuff with the boys like ride what Luke called the, "choo-choo," this make- shift barrel train ride. By the end of the ride our legs were numb and our backs were sore, man we're getting old but you gotta sacrifice for the sake of your kids joy! But really it was a lot fun! Luke loved it!

Noah kept reminding me he's getting all growed up and not so much of a wittle baby anymore. Whenever he saw Luke running around he'd wiggle himself out of my arms and would try to walk with me holding him by the hands. He's got a month left before the big ONE!

Grandpa also kept trying to have Luke feed the animals but Luke was not having it!

I didn't realize we didn't get many pictures with pumpkins or believe me I would have been that annoying mommy forcing their kids to sit with the pumpkins whether they like it or not. I was able to get a few of Noah but not of Luke the independent 2 year old who currently answers "NO, I don't want to!" to every request mommy makes...

Well it was still a blast even though I didn't get that perfect family picture in front of all the pumpkins! I truly enjoyed just watching Luke running around careless and free, being exactly what he is a little boy.

#flashbackfriday

#flashbackfriday
Lets flashback to a time when I actually had time, or I made time to write, not sure anymore. A time when my blog post were less about me and more about God.

When I shared more about all that the Lord was doing in my life and less about what we did over the weekend or how much bigger my kids have gotten. I just feel like I don't have time to write anymore! Its easier to post pics and call it a day!

Maybe I'm too hard on myself, I do have a 2 year old and 10 month old that take 90% of my time.

But I miss writing. I get ideas in my head or the Lord did something cool in my life and think I need to write a post and share but never follow through like I used to.

I sure do miss those posts, that time.

After all, that is why I started a blog, to capture my journey with the Lord. To magnify him in my little life. Use my writing skills to bring him glory. I have a huge desire of starting a new blog, a little more professional, something that maybe I can make money from sharing decorating ideas, recipes yet still be inspirational and that would glorify God. Something that would require more daily posts, more writing, more time...

It sounds impossible.

I know the Lord can still work through me, a weak person with no time. My prayer today is that the Lord would give me time to write again that he would give me the desires of my heart, to put into writing once again what he is doing in my life, to continue to share my weakness and my little victories here and there, to share how I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

I sit here writing as Luke is refusing to nap and yelling out from his crib, "Mommy, mommy, whe ah (where are) you mommy?" and he just woke up Noah from his nap... Not sure how this thing about me wanting to write and make a blog will go...

I guess I'll let you know what the Lord does. Might be tomorrow, might be next week, month? We'll see if I have time!

By the way after re-reading and editing this I think the boys are napping now!!! Scratch that... Wait... Holy moly I think they just knocked out, maybe there is hope for me!
Flashback to when my hair was long, gorgeous and annoying. I miss it somedays and then I remember how I never had time to style it! oh, time...

Farewell Summer 2014

Well Summer has come and gone...

Ok, ok... Theres still almost a month left but lets face it, school starting totally marks the end of it and it should be kind enough to take this heat with it too! Ain't nobody got time for you heat!
But summer did bring many sweet memories, here's a recap and a list of some highlights!
  • Celebrated our 5 Year Anniversary
  • Paddle boarded.
  • Left the boys for two whole nights for the first time!
  • Mommy cut her, daddy shaved his off and Luke and Noah need haircuts!
  • I grew a garden and then watched it die. (I don't want to talk about it.)
  • Swam under a waterfall.
  • Noah learned to crawl.
  • Luke started talking, a lot!
  • I weaned Noah.
  • I started my period! (TMI but this is a big deal because I didn't have a period for like 3 years because I've been pregnant and breastfeeding this whole time!)
  • Luke turned 2!
  • Noah got his first tooth.
  • Nick got his first tattoo.
  • Daddy got a few gigs designing logos and such.
  • We had many Dallas dates.
  • Coffee. Enough said.
  • Went to the Perot for the first time.
  • Made an adult fort in our living room and camped in the great indoors.
  • Baked, brewed, baked, brewed, repeat.
  • Shows we got hooked on: The Killing, American Ninja Warrior, Naked and Afraid, Nathan for You, Sesame Street, Thomas and Calliou. (The last three were not by choice.)
  • Favorite Meal of the Summer: Franklin's BBQ. Duh.
And the top highlight of the summer goes to... Drumroll please... Having daddy home 24/7 for 2 months!!!
